Tea With Me: 21st October, 2018 Sunday

21st October, 2018 Sunday

Well, morning sported Earled Honeyed Creamed Tea with Texas Sis and Magic Man who opened up the day to other possible adventures.  So after breakfast we did roll onto the River ribboning Eastward and found the place Oldest, from now on Eldest, will be making paths for learning about the Gorge.

It’s building sides along the Mighty River with a fountain rolling water across its mighty bricks.  Water even in its closed loop flowing fountain form has music which continues always making different melody. Everything is changing all the time and nothing stays the same.  We are not permanent or set in stone.  Change is the only constant.

We watched a film about the history of the Gorge which swiftly tells the story of the 14,000 years the First Peoples indigenous here had fished a Falls upriver just a ways from where we watched the film.  Then lots of time spent telling of the Damming of the Mighty River to harness all the energy the flowing waters could provide for America a growing in the early 20th c.  In 1956 the White Man did decide to build a dam which ended the Falls these People had fished for longer than the White Man can count its history.  But America and White Men needed River’s Power for the Progress clamoring to happen all across the continent so they did the damming anyway.  It makes me sad that tale.

A few days ago, I came across this Margaret Atwood Poem.  I found it reassuring.

We left Eldest new perch and went over the bridge which is over where those ancient falls are buried beneath all the damned concrete and ribboned West on the northern edge of River and up the hill to the town named for the Fish its inhabitants made extinct.  It sports a great bakery which has great lunch.  We feasted on things with butter, cheese, wheat and sugar.  Our laughter rolled to roaring as the sugar hit our brains.  Then home again to visit with SIL’s Mama and Papa who had come to see Texas Sis and Her Magic Man.

They waited in our yard for us and greeted us with hugs, kisses and a lot of laughter.

The three boys settled on the Keystone Couch and the three girls sat at Kitchen Table.  I made tea and watched Texas Sis and SIL Mama find more space they love eachother in.  SIL is another SFAM.  SFAM2, Ok?

They left to go have dinner with Farmer Daughter and Her Husband.  And Texas Sis and I went walking on our road towards the forest west of us.  We felt each other’s space walking on the road in all our difference and all our same.

We looked at flowers and the trees and found my friend The Vet and her two sweet sweet kids who wanted to show me their tee shirts.  We had a sweet sweet visit along the road.

On the way back home, collected her some Large Leaf Maple leaves for her friend back home who has the plant thing.  The good ones were hard to spot as they tend to crumple as their color turns.  I found one high on a stalk and pulled the stalk down far enough to pull the leaf to me.  I handed it to Sister Mine and she did thank me.  We walked back on the road to home and a little rest.

We went to dinner at a place and had good cheese, salad and a steak.  The  dessert was lots of chocolate.

And now at home with a episode running before bed.

My Texas Sis shot a shot of me with Zoi in front of home right after she arrived.  It is a favorite thing, oh yes.

Ta.
