Tea With Me: 14th October, 2018 Sunday

14th October, 2018 Sunday

Tea was Jasmined Green and early morning slanted sunlight bejeweled the fringing trees around the field. Clean day so sharp it glittered.

I will have charge of Flock of Five and Thanksgiving and Christmas tomorrow night and the following morning. My training was this morning with Oldest. Her fowl were quite the entertainment. I was indeed the stranger in their midst. Thanksgiving and Christmas honked and honked and waddled round while she showed me how to work the latch to close them safe at night and release them during day. How to fill the plastic pool so geese can play at being real. And fill their feed bowl which makes them gurgle and honk and flap. The chickens all ran away from me into their lovely copse. Then the latest two waddled out to say hello to Oldest. She picked Fierce Friend Chicken up and I stroked her russet feathers as the nestled in my daughters loving hands. Its all easy and with birds. I was so happy that Thanksgiving and Christmas did not bite me.

My Husband and I went to Little Market where SIL was boothed for the last time. Little Market had its last day for the Season. Goat Milk Mama and her Beef Husband were there with their two wee ones. She told me she had a quarter cow gone begging, would I want it? I said we have to talk freezers. We have so many freezers now. Our big chest freezer we used to never use and Oldest and SIL’s and now they have 2 little freezers. One with the other two in our garage and the other up in their roost. Do we really need another freezer? Maybe so.

We wander into the little store which hosts the Little Market in her yard. She has some very interesting furniture from local homes and far and wide. We spy three stools which our kitchen counter has been crying for. They are metal framed and black leather covered and easy to slip on and off of. I truly truly loved them. The price was absolutely right. And then in a corner edge there was a chair which spoke to me so loud and bright and when I sat I almost fell asleep. Its price was even shinier. The car was laden with this loot and off we went to wish SIL farewell.

Then SIL says we are welcome at the end of season party at the home of the Lady who had the luscious Amaranth that called to them a few weeks ago. We helped him pack the booth into his truck and off we went to Lady Amaranth’s. Up a beauty road wind round the edge of hills who open to a terraced valley. Her home is nestled in a cleft, terraced ground. Her home is kind and warm and loving and she was so happy to have us there. So the Market cast dribbled in the door and food appeared and talk twirled round and greetings happened. A couple who remind us of Fleetwood Mac arrive and they are truly young and beautiful. They have two children, boy who’s 12 and girl who’s 18 and she is about to leave to spread her wings. She is not sure what she wants so I told them my Sweet Youngest Tale.

And home again to the waning of the day.

I know someone whose heart was broken and isn’t sure it will ever find a way to heal. Oh love is in her, yes, it is, but where she thought she would find home in other heart, well, when it came to it, that heart just couldn’t reach beyond its fear. Life is full but there is that core which is alone. I wish I could make more for her. We just go on.

And then there is my Scottish Boy whose continental form is never far from me and always finds a way to capture my attention.

The Lady Dragon keyed herself into the Keystone couch. Hey, that’s my spot.

I do adore them.

Ta.
